General Information

  • Why is the SmartName Parking Platform being retired?
    • As part of our commitment to providing you with the best service, we’re focusing our resources on GoDaddy CashParking. You’ll experience enhanced features and improved support, combined with the performance you’ve come to expect as a SmartName customer.
  • Does this affect Afternic’s parking service?
    • No, Afternic’s parking service will remain the same, with no alterations to its availability.
  • What is GoDaddy CashParking?
    • GoDaddy CashParking is a domain monetization service that allows you to earn revenue from your domain names by displaying ads relevant to your domain’s content.

Migration Process

  • How will the migration process work?
    • The migration process begins on May 15th and will be completed on Friday, May 30th. All account and domain settings on the SmartName platform will be transferred to GoDaddy CashParking during this migration period.
  • Will there be any downtime during the migration?
    • We anticipate no downtime during the migration. Our team is working diligently to ensure a seamless transition. If you experience issues, or require assistance during the migration period, we’re here to help.
  • Will I need to make any changes after the migration?
    • You can access your new account by using your SmartName email on file to perform a password reset on GoDaddy to gain access to your new CashParking account.

    Please note that the SmartName platform will switch to read-only mode on Monday, June 2nd. Our support team will be available to assist you with any questions during this transition .

  • How do I perform a password reset on GoDaddy to access my new CashParking account?
    • Follow the instructions on GoDaddy Help to using your SmartName email.  Once completed, log in the GoDaddy CashParking to gain access to your new CashParking account.
  • Do I need to change my nameservers?
    • No, you do not need to change your nameservers as part of the migration to GoDaddy CashParking. The transition has been designed to be seamless, so your existing settings will remain intact.

Reporting

  • How do I access reports going forward?
    • Historical revenue reports will not be migrated to CashParking. However, you will have until Friday, August 1st, 2025, to download any old reports from the SmartName platform for your records.
      Going forward, new reports will be accessible through CashParking.

Account and Billing

  • Will I need to update my payment information?
    • No, you will not need to update your payment information. Your SmartName payee details will be automatically migrated to your GoDaddy CashParking account, ensuring seamless transactions without any additional steps required on your part.
  • Will the date of my payout change?
    • No, the payout date will not change. You will continue to receive your payments on the same schedule as before, ensuring consistency and reliability in your earning payouts.
  • Will the revenue share I receive change?
    • No, the revenue share you receive will not change. It will be seamlessly migrated to your new GoDaddy CashParking account, ensuring you continue to earn at the same rate as before.
  • Where can I download my payout history?
    • To download your payout history, please contact our customer support team. They can assist you in accessing and obtaining your payout history from SmartName. Our support team is available to guide you through the process and ensure you have all the necessary information.
